How It Works
From Workday to a running program in three steps
Export
Export the people you want from Workday: name, work email, department, job title and manager.
Import
Paste the columns into Mentorly's member template (email, name, mentor, role, cohort, tags and your onboarding questions) and import. Mentorly matches on email, so nothing is duplicated. The import writes every system column as it is in the file, blank included, so for a re-import start from Mentorly's member export.
Sign in
Your people sign in with SAML 2.0 from your identity provider, and get their Mentorly invitation when you send it.
Getting your people out of Workday
Workday's documented path is a custom report on the Workers for HCM Reporting data source (the example copies the Find Workers report), with the columns you need and the Export to Excel mass action. The same report can be served as CSV through Reports as a Service.
Signing in
Mentorly signs people in with SAML 2.0 from your identity provider (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace and others). Workday's public documentation does not describe Workday acting as an identity provider for other applications, so sign-in to Mentorly goes through your identity provider rather than through Workday.
About a live connector
Mentorly does not connect to the Workday API today. Workday exposes REST services (for example Staffing v7, GET /workers, which carries work email, business title, location and supervisory organization) behind OAuth 2.0. A connector that reads your Workday records on a schedule is scoped as a project with your team, not switched on in a settings page.
